Photography Challenge
This week, I was inspired to sign up for a Spring photography challenge after a recommendation from a tweet by @designerwife which led me to her blog. Lindsey describers herself as, “a twenty something wife designing a healthy, balanced & beautiful life. Chic Geek. Fitness Freak. Photo loving, coffee drinking, blog stalking girl who’s rediscovering her faith, loves animals and still plays with glitter and glue.” Read her article here.
The photography challenge will begin tomorrow, April 4th and will last for 2 weeks. You don’t have to have a fancy camera either. That’s what got my attention. I usually use my Droid phone to take pictures for my blog. They promise I will learn new techniques and strategies to help my pictures look better. Here’s the link to learn more about the challenge.

Green Finds
I also found a “green” blog called, Green Earth Bazaar. Michelle describes herself a “Do-It-Yourself kind of girl who thinks being green is pretty keen.” She has a variety of articles from gardening to homeschooling to recipes for chocolate lip balm. My favorite page is her “Green Finds” which she updates every Saturday with a new link. Check it out and tell her I sent you by to visit. She is a SITSgirl, too!

This week, I am going to share some of the best posts I read about “Making a Difference.”
Inspired by a post by Emily at Family and Life in Las Vegas to “Do Something !” She has a list of 10 great ideas for making a difference. Pick one or two and let’s make the world a better place.

At Healthy Child, Healthy world there is a new movie called, “A Wake-Up Story” about protecting our children from dangerous toxic chemicals in our everyday items at home. This is a call to action to make small changes and join the movement to make a difference. If we allow TV and magazine commercials to mislead us about what is really clean, then we may be putting our family in danger. But, if we as moms start spreading the word, we can be part of the solution.
At Mission Mommyhood Ethiopia, Heather shares her desire to become a mom. After years of struggling with infertility, she and her husband have made a decision to adopt from Ethiopia. Being an parent who chose adoption, I understand and relate to her upcoming journey. How you can make a difference is to support them through purchasing her jewelry at her Etsy store. Profits will be used to fund the adoption (which can be very expensive.)
Finally, several years ago, struggling in my home based business I stumbled across a business training website. I began to listen daily to the training and after a week, I noticed I began to change. This training was different than any I had every experienced. I attended several live events with Dani Johnson who not only taught me how to be a successful business woman, but also taught the importance of building and nurturing relationships (at home too!), getting out of debt, and most importantly about giving to others. She makes millions from her training, but lives on less than most of us. She gives away millions to projects locally and around the world. And recently, she was honored to be on ABC’s Secret Millionaire. Stop by her website and watch the full episode and then watch her “behind the scenes” video about what it was like to make the show and why she gave what she gave to each project. Her teachings changed my life and I have never been the same. I wish the same for you.
So go out and make a difference this week!

My favorite posts this week come from my friends at theSITSgirls.com who are participating in a 31 day blogging challenge with me. We are 1/2 way there!
I was inspired to make Green Smoothies after reading, Nicole Rivera’s post called “My First “Green Drink” at her blog about eating more healthy. Read about her first experience and how her husband reacted. After reading the post, I went to the store and bought the ingredients and made my own version of a Green Smoothie.
For a delightful poem about what it means to become a parent, visit “I Thought I Knew Mama” blog. She wrote this poem for her son’s dedication ceremony and it eloquently describes the change of priorities in a new parent’s life.
On another note, I watched a few videos for research about Greener Cleaning and want to share this CBC documentary called: Toxic Brew. It’s about the chemicals in household cleaners and their relationship to allergies and asthma. A must watch if you have family members who can’t seem to stay well.
Please leave me a comment and let me know what you enjoyed reading this week.

My favorite posts this week come from my friends at theSITSgirls.com who are participating in a 31 day blogging challenge with me:
Fellow mom blogger at Daily Organized Chaos shared her personal story of how bullying affected her family and how she is fighting back. Read Bullying Stops Here: Pink Shirt Day and be inspired.
Poppy wrote about her 5 Reasons to Stop Drinking Diet Soda on her blog about her personal journey to eating healthier and exercising more. She tells it like it is including her struggles with being a junk food junkie. She has a cute blog titled, From Fried Chicken to Tofu!
Kat at Food for Every Season shares a recipe for a very original Mango Rice Pudding. The pictures on her blog make the food look tasty and inviting.
