I’m spending the weekend with my mom getting her house ready for Spring.

We changed all the batteries in the clocks when we moved them up an hour.

We’ve got some plants to repot and a few other little projects.

But, I wanted to take a minute and touch base with you and see if you are ready for Spring.

Spring is a great time to clean house.

But, it’s also just a great time to make sure we are taking care of our most important house, the one we call our body.

I’ve been taking Vitamin D all through the winter and (knock on wood) I have not been sick one day!  Not a cold, not the flu, not a stomach ache….  I am thankful!

You see last year, I read several articles about the benefits of vitamin D and I took a quiz to find out what levels I needed.

I went to my local Goodwill store today to pick up a few dishes to make a cake plate like the ones I’ve seen pinned on Pinterest, but I got distracted when I took a quick peek at the blue jeans.

I found a pair of Raefella jeans for only $7.  At my store, every Sunday they change the color of the week. And today the color was blue. These jeans had a blue tag so they were an additional 50% off!

Then I was so close to the blazers (which I love for work.) I can’t believe I found a Michael Kors blazer for only $5. Now, I had to make an outfit so I went to the sweater rack and the shirts.

I found a pink sweater for $2.50 because it was on sale. Wow!

I put this outfit together for only $10. All name brand items!

You won’t believe what else I found!

I found a Micheal Kors blazer for $5, Rafella jeans for $3, Ralph Lauren shirt for $3.50, Jones of New York jeans for $7, a Talbots sweater for $5, a suit for $10, a Liz Claiborne sweater for $5, another pair of jeans and a scarf.     All of this at a retail store would cost about $500.

I only paid $42 for my entire shopping spree!  We are talking quality stuff here.  I never did get the cake plate supplies…  Oh well, I’ll just have to make another trip another day.

In the past I would have been  ashamed to say I shopped at Goodwill, but now I am proud.  I save money, plus I am helping a charity, and I am keeping these clothes from being thrown in a landfill.  I think it shows financial wisdom too!
