How to Make Window Cleaner for Less than a Penny
| May 20, 2011 | Filled under Get Clean, Shaklee, Uncategorized |
I’ve been reading a lot of blogs about natural cleaning products and many of them suggest making your own natural cleaners.
I’ve been using Basic H2 Super Organic Cleaning Concentrate for nearly 20 years and recently did a comparison of Basic H2 window cleaner and a home made version. Read that post here!
Here’s what I found:
You can make a window cleaner for less than a penny with Basic H2 and it is so easy and mess free! That’s a lot less than the home made natural cleaning solutions! And…it works better! No streaks, no odor, non-toxic, eco-friendly: a delight to clean with!
But don’t just look at the cost savings! Look at the impact on our environment. By using concentrated cleaners, you eliminate all of this waste in our landfills.

Day 2 Greener Cleaning Kitchen Challenge: How I Clean My Stovetop with Natural Cleaners
| March 27, 2011 | Filled under Get Clean, Kitchen Cleaning Challenge |
Week Two of the Greener Cleaning Kitchen Challenge:
Clean Your Stove Top With Natural Cleaning Products
In the first week, I challenged you to clean your sink with natural, non-toxic cleaners like vinegar and baking soda or commercially made “green cleaners.”
Click here to see the GREENER SINK challenge.
I disclosed to you that I am a Shaklee Independent Distributor and have been for nearly 20 years using their Get Clean Non-toxic Super Concentrated Cleaners. I prefer to use them because they are safe, effective, and in many ways cost less than ready made cleaners and home recipes like vinegar and baking soda. (See proof here!) I do get paid if you buy Shaklee products from my website, but these opinions are my own.
So now, let’s move on with the challenge!
Clean Your Stove Top with Natural Cleaners
I have a ceramic glass top stove and after I cook, oil and food must be removed from the surface or it bakes on and becomes very difficult to remove.
Here’s my before pictures:
I used Shaklee’s Basic H2 Organic Super Concentrated Cleaner to clean my stove top. I put ¼ teaspoon of Basic H2 in a 16 oz spray bottle and added water to fill the bottle. I sprayed my stove top and left it to sit for 2 minutes. Then I put some Get Clean Scour Off Heavy Duty Paste on a Miracle Scrubber Pad and scrubbed the baked on areas. I rinsed it by wiping it all down with a microfiber cleaning cloth.
I also took the knobs off the controls and sprayed the area with Basic H2. It wiped clean easily and there were no toxic fumes. I enjoy cleaning with my Shaklee products because I feel it is safer for my family and it really gets things clean.
Here are my after pictures:
Now, you give it a try.
Use a non-toxic cleaner whether it be store bought, home made, or a Shaklee Get Clean product purchased from an Independent Distributor like myself. Leave a comment and tell us about your experience.
